The Governing Board of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has assured the executives of the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) of its intention to work with Management to ensure that staff welfare is given priority.
In line with this, the Chairman of the Board, Engr. Bukar Bulama Buni, assured the union executives that any proposals submitted by the Management on behalf of the Union would receive the requisite attention.
To foster effective communication, Engr. Buni encouraged the Union to maintain regular meetings with TCN Management, particularly with the regional offices, to ensure direct feedback from and to the Management. He applauded the cordial relationship between the Union and Management and noted that Union’s input and collaboration with the Management are crucial for the company’s success.
On his part, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TCN, Engr. Sule Abdulaziz commended the Union’s cordial relationship with TCN and urged them to continue supporting the Management, while assuring that staff welfare would remain a priority in the company.
On his part, the SSAEAC President, Engr. Chika Benedict expressed the Union’s commitment to presenting fresh ideas for advancing TCN’s progress and noted that the union will present a proposal to the Management soon. He said that the Union is aware of the challenges stemming from the debts incurred by the DisCos and noted that they would continue to persuade stakeholders to avoid any form of aggression capable of causing industrial disharmony.
The meeting showcased the collaborative efforts between TCN’s Management, the Governing Board, and the SSAEAC to ensure the well-being of TCN staff while addressing the company’s operational challenges. By foresting open communication and maintaining a harmonious relationship, all parties will work towards the common goal of enhancing TCN’s performance and achievements.
